Vocational Education Programs

Education programs provide instruction and job experience to prepare inmates for entry level employment and integration into the work force. The program provides training opportunities in:

  • Automotive mechanics
  • Heavy/agricultural equipment mechanics
  • Machine tool operation
  • Welding pre-apprenticeship program
  • Metal fabrication
  • Motor vehicle maintenance and repair
  • On-the-job training
  • Computer training and information processing
  • Computer aided drafting
  • Job Readiness coursework and workplace math

Parenting and Life Skills

Nurturing Parenting Program is an evidence-based, fully court-compliant program taught by a credentialed teacher. Life Skills education is also available to offenders in all custody levels. These classes teach important life skills to assist successful community reentry. These skills include: budgeting, finance and credit, applying, and interviewing, for a job as a felon, etc.

CAMPP MT
 
Connecting Adults and Minors through Positive Parenting is a grant-funded, evidence-based  program with the goal of initiating the reunification process for incarcerated fathers and their minor children in a positive and structured environment.

HiSET

These classes provide preparation and assessment by fully credentialed teachers in partnership with the Montana Office of Public Instruction. Special education teachers and services are available for offenders who qualify.

College Correspondence Classes
 
Offenders may apply for correspondence classes through a variety of approved schools. The Education Department will facilitate and provide support throughout the process. College workshops are also available to help offenders navigate the college application process prior to entering the community.
