Each product and service purchased through MCE provides offenders with the opportunity to learn marketable job and life skills, a work ethic and a sense of pride, all of which assists them upon release to become productive employees, good neighbors and tax-paying citizens.

Who can order from MCE?

MCE is a prison training program that can sell to the following within the state of Montana:

  • State agencies, educational institutions, service groups, schools, booster clubs, athletic teams, churches, and nonprofit organizations.
  • Private businesses and individuals are welcome to order through contracts and our dealer network throughout the state.

How to Order

Hobby Store

The Hobby Store, located at the Old Prison Museum complex in Deer Lodge, offers a variety of inmate-produced crafts. These crafts, produced at Montana State Prison, Montana Women's Prison, and Department of Corrections contract facilities, include hitched and braided horsehair, art, beading, leather work, and crocheting. The general public and businesses can contract with inmates, through Montana Correctional Enterprises, for a specific hobby item.
 
The store, located at 1103 Main St., is open Monday - Sunday from 8 a.m.- 3 p.m. For more information, call the store at (406) 415-6515.

Automotive Services

Motor Vehicle Maintenance 

The Motor Vehicle Maintenance department provides service and repair for vehicles and equipment owned by governmental agencies and nonprofit organizations. Services range from preventive maintenance, overhauls of major components and complete vehicle refurbishment.

Auto Body Services

Auto body services include body panel repair and replacement, complete paint jobs, body electrical repair and windshield replacements for all types of vehicles and equipment. We can repurpose vehicles and equipment such as military surplus trucks for wild land fires, emergency headquarters or any other use that your agency or organization needs. We specialize in restoring antique vehicles such as fire trucks, police cars and tractors.

Print and Sign Services

The print shop offers a wide variety of printed documents including booklets, reports, pamphlets and flyers. Provide your own artwork or allow us to design your business cards (Business Card Order Form), letterhead, or printed envelopes. We have an experienced team to get your project off the ground. 
 
The sign shop offers banners, street signs, decals, stickers, and much more. We can make almost any sized sign on a variety of mediums including aluminum, Coroplast, Aluwel and plastic.
Most jobs do not incur a design or a set up charge. 

Textile Services 

Embroidery and Screen Printing
Let the Montana Women's Prison help you out with all of your emboridery and screen printing needs!
We have the ability to personalize your t-shirts, uniforms and hats with two methods: screen printing or emboridery. Screen printing is a visually striking multi-color application where ink is placed directly on clothing to produce a durable image. We can also Utilize our state of the art six-head embroidery machine to customize your apparel. 
If you don't have your own logo, our team of graphic artists can assist you with designing one or we can modify your existing logo to the image you want.

Clothing, Scrubs and more
Montana Women's Prison (MWP) Industries can provide your uniforms, jackets, team t-shirts and more. You can browse our vendor catalog that has everything from business casual polo shirts to messenger bags. 
We also offer competitive prices for our Institutional Clothing, including scrubs and jackets.  Choose from the following colors: blue, orange, khaki, red, green, yellow, white, and black and white stripes.
 
Find the right style and price for your organization and our Embroidery or Screen Printing team can personalize with your logo, agency name or customized artwork.

Institutional Products 
 
Montana Correctional Enterprises can offer your insitution a variety of products.
MCE supplies commissary items to offenders in Montana correctional facilities. Items available include snack foods, clothing, hygiene products, electronics and more, all of which are approved by facility security managers and the Prison Issues Board.  New item requests are submitted each year by the offenders to their unit managers.

We also offer competitive prices for our institutional clothing, including scrubs and jackets.  You can choose from the following colors: blue, orange, khaki, red, green, yellow, white, and black and white stripes. These can be personalized items with your institution's initials, other lettering or logo.
Other products we offer include: 
  • pre-packaged kits of hygiene supplies for your institutional needs;
  • memory foam or high density foam mattresses and pillows. 
 
Institutional Services
Food Factory
The Food Factory includes centralized cook-chill and bakery operations that provide over 13,500 meals per day in tray or bulk form for correctional institutions, county jails, pre-releases, and other non-profit organizations. All menus are prepared by a registered dietitian.

Laundry
The Laundry provides professional laundering services for governmental and educational agencies and non-profit organizations.
 
Each customer's laundry is processed separately using national infectious control standards.
 
MCE can provide pickup and delivery services on our established truck routes. The facility is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

How to Pay for Products and services

If you ordered products or services from Montana Correctional Enterprises and want to make an online payment with a debit or credit card, you are required to use an OKTA account. If you don’t already have an OKTA account CLICK HERE.

Use your legal name as it appears on your ID when creating your OKTA account to use the online payment service. Make sure you use the same name for making a payment that was used on the account setup.  For example, when making a payment, do not enter Bob if the account setup was under Robert. If your name does not match exactly, you will get an error message.
