I Forgot my PIN !

The purpose of a personal identification number (PIN) is to ensure that you control your VINE registration and that no one else can change or cancel your registration. You select your own 4-digit PIN when you register for VINE. Choose a PIN that is easy to remember and keep it close to your telephone. If you have forgotten your PIN, we can help you.

If you need assistance on a weekend, holiday or after regular business hours, skip to (3), which provides VINE assistance 24/7. Otherwise, use option (1) or (2):

  1. Call the Department of Corrections victim programs manager at (888) 223-6332 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday (holidays excluded). The victim programs manager will retrieve your PIN, cancel the current calls to your number, and ensure that you receive VINE notification the next time the offender's custody status changes.
  2. Prison victim information officers also can retrieve your PIN during regular business hours. Call (406) 247-5102 at Montana Women's Prison or (406) 846-1320 X2201 at Montana State Prison (all male inmates).
  3. If you need assistance on weekends, holidays, after 5 p.m. or before 8 a.m. weekdays, do this: Call toll free (866) 277-7477. You will hear this message: “Thank you for calling Appriss, provider of the VINE service. If you are a victim or would like offender information, press 1 and you will be connected to a VINE operator.” PRESS 1 and you will be immediately connected to the VINE call center, which operates 24/7. Tell the VINE operator that you need to retrieve a PIN or stop VINE calls to your phone number.

Suggestion: If repeated VINE phone calls are inconvenient for you, consider registering for email notification at www.vinelink.com
