Bridge to Benefits is a multi-state project by Rural Dynamics Incorporated and Children’s Defense Fund Minnesota to improve the well-being of low-income families and individuals by linking them to public work support programs and tax credits. A core component of the project is an online screening tool designed to help families and individuals understand if they are eligible for six public work support programs and the Earned Income Tax Credit.
Department of Health and Human Services Low-Income Energy Assistance offers two programs- the Weatherization Program helps participants to improve the heating efficiency of their homes and thus reduce their energy consumption and the Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) pays part of winter energy bills for eligible people. Most utilities offer LIEAP recipients discounts on their bills.

Energy Share of Montana is a private nonprofit organization whose goal is to help Montanans faced with energy emergencies meet their needs and move towards self-reliance. Since its inception in 1982 Energy Share has distributed 13.4 million dollars in energy assistance to more than 41,000 families.
