Visiting Residents at Missoula Prerelease Center

Approval to visit

People wishing to visit residents of the prerelease center must complete and return a Missoula Prerelease Center Visiting Questionnaire. The visiting questionnaire is available at the center or you may have a resident mail the form to you.

A criminal history check may be completed on all applicants prior to approval and admission to the center.

The completed questionnaire can be dropped off at the center or mailed to:

If you have questions about visiting, you may call the center at (406) 541-9200.

Visiting conditions

No more than four people, including children, may visit a resident at one time. Visitors under the influence of drugs or alcohol are prohibited.

In addition, visitors

  • must bring a state or federal picture ID.
  • must not wear revealing clothing; undergarments are required.
  • are prohibited from bringing drugs, drug paraphernalia, alcohol, weapons and food into the prerelease center.

The Missoula Prerelease Center serves male and female residents and is operated by Missoula Correctional Services, Inc., under a contract with the Montana Department of Corrections.

West Unit (males)
Regular:
Saturday, Sunday
12:00 – 2:50 p.m.
In addition, for residents at level 3.0 or higher Thursday
7:00 – 9:30 p.m.
East Unit (males)
Regular:
Saturday, Sunday
3:10 – 6:00 p.m.
In addition, for residents at level 3.0 or higher Wednesday
7:00 – 9:30 p.m.
Women’s Unit
Regular:
Saturday,  Sunday
1:10 – 4:00 p.m.
In addition, for residents at level 3.0 or higher Wednesday
7:00 – 9:30 p.m.
